Course Title: Module 1: BIOMECHANICS OF THE PELVIS & NATURAL ALIGNMENT

Course Date: Feb 22-25, 2024

Course Instructor: Aimee Kolsby

What is your training and experience:
I am honored to be teaching Liz Gaggini's 5-module training, the Biomechanics of Adaptable Alignment. Liz gave me the right to teach her work when she retired in 2016 after 11 years of mentoring and assisting with her classes.
This training presents a whole body system for understanding how the body, as a tensegrity system, balances any one misalignment with an integrated pattern of global misalignment. These global responses affect every joint of the body in predictable ways. Based on the principles of connective tissue adaptability and tensegrity mechanics, this series of courses teaches a full body approach for correcting the structural misalignments that create pain and joint degeneration which greatly disturb equilibrium, balance and integrated movement.
This is an advanced system that can be used alone and/or applied to a classic Structural Integration 10 series, which I have been doing in my private SI practice for 20 years with great success.
My intention is to promote Liz Gaggini's important work as an advanced training for graduates of Structural Integration schools. I graduated from the Hellerwork School of Structural Integration in 2001 and then studied with Liz Gaggini in New York City from 2005-2016. During that same time I also mentored for the Hellerwork Trainings under Joseph Heller from 2003 - 2009. In 2009, I became a founding member of the New School of Structural Integration in Laguna Beach, CA.
I have been teaching the classic Structural Integration ten series at NEWSSI since 2009 and also teaching the biomechanics courses from 2016 through the present. In addition to Liz Gaggini, I have also studied continuing education with Monica Caspari from 2011-2013, Bob Schrei from 2012 - present and Jan Sultan. I did two cadaver trainings with Donna Bajalis in 2000 and Liz Gaggini in 2010. The next 5-module Biomechanics of Alignment Training in 2024 begins with Module 1: The Pelvis and Natural Alignment Feb 22-25, 2024 in Costa Mesa, CA. More information is available on my web site:

Course Start and end times: 10am - 6pm

Course Type: In-person

In Person location: 2371 Colgate Drive - Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Course Description: In this 4-day class, you will learn to assess natural alignment through factors of girdle position, spinal curvature and appendicular rotations. You will learn the anatomy and kinesiology of the different patterns of tilt, shift, symmetry and asymmetry that can be found within the pelvic girdle. Work will be demonstrated for bringing the pelvis into balance and symmetry.
