Course Description:
This 3-day immersion in SI work is open to graduates of IASI-approved programs. “We are not stuff that abides, but patterns that perpetuate themselves.” – Ida Rolf, quoting Norbert Wiener
Adapting the recipe to specific patterns requires picking up the detail while keeping an eye to the whole.
In this class, we will explore strategies for: a single ‘fix-it’ session a 3-series the integration sessions a 10- or 12-session recipe Practice ‘launching’ your session with Tom – what you see and how you might proceed. We are working with each other, so it’s a great chance to get good work from colleagues, as well as learn new techniques and get new eyes.
Primarily, it’s a chance to talk and practice strategy. Patterns unfold in discernible ways, and not every strategy works. Let Tom’s experience help you to shortcuts and pathways, building an internal logic of how structure unfolds into space. Whether the blockage to movement is mechanical, or due to injury or surgery, or carries a deep emotional load, Ida Rolf’s genius was to first build a better structure underneath the problem. Only then can you resolve their ‘presenting issue’ with depth and longevity. So many practitioners miss how much the lower legs, deep pelvis, spine, or neck affect other problem areas. Structural Integration is a unique approach, not, like to many others, about what you do. Instead, SI is about where you are. Reaching into our clients’ deep patterns is a privilege and a responsibility. Come live up to both, and have fun into the bargain. Come prepared to work and be worked on. Bringing client photos to puzzle over is also welcome.
